The Dublin Creative Therapy Centre is pleased to introduce this special introductory offer to group art therapy. The Creative Connection is based on the belief that we all have an unlimited resourse of creative potential within us; this innate creative potential is transformative in its ability to heal, express, grow and cultivate a more compassionate self.

The Creative Connection is designed tofoster a rich relationship of discovery and support within the group, group art therapy tends to provide a wider range of responses and expression as we realise we are not alone in our humanness, or in our experiences and our issues. We hear and see reflected in others, both similarities and differences. Groups support each other and pay witness to the individuality and uniqueness of others. We are moved and stimulated by others, as we realise that we all experience both adversity and growth throughout our lifetimes, finding our own understanding and solutions to not just personal but collective healing and transformation.

Group art therapy reveal the human condition from a unique and individual perspective in company with others uncovering their own processes and outcomes. We will utilises the creative/art process in whatever form you choose to journey into your inner self. Choosing from an array of art materials, or items found in nature, through music, dance, words, prose, metaphor, storytelling, and myth, we begin to explore our individual and unique expressions. This may at times be painful, change can be a challenge, however, when we travel on our own individual journey we experience new worlds with new understandings and new outcomes

Benefits of art therapy group work include:

*Meditation/Mindfulness practice
*Self-esteem/confidence
*Insight into interpersonal relationships
*Communication Skills
*Personal Development
*Social Skills
*Opportunities for sharing with those who have experienced similar life experiences.
*Creative expression in a non judgemental environment

Facilitator
John O’Malley is an accredited (IACAT) art therapist at The Dublin Creative Therapy Centre from where he has run his private practice for the last seven years. He has over decades experience in facilitating group art therapy workshops.

Fractal Drawing Method Workshop

Have you ever wondered what do Maths, Psychology and Arts share in common?

Fractals are never-ending patterns that are self-similar across different scales. They are created by repeating a simple pattern over and over in an ongoing feedback loop. Fractal patterns are extremely familiar, since nature is full of fractals: trees, mountains, clouds, rivers, etc. They can be used to describe the world around us and within us as well.

Drawing fractals and colouring them reveals the impact fractals and colours have on our lives. The smallest pattern in a fractal has the same structure as the whole fractal. This recursive replication of exactly the same pattern at every scale is called a self-similar pattern. If we apply this to humans, a new door for possibilities opens: by changing one part of our drawing we can change our whole drawing,by changing one part of our being we can change our whole being.

Fractal Drawing Method is a unique Art Therapy tool founded by the Russian clinical psychologist Tanzilija Polujahtova. The method itself, through stimulation of brain areas for creativity, colours, feelings, intuition and precise motor functions, facilitates the activation of the right side of the brain. The resulting activation and rewiring of new neuronal pathways initiates an emotional self-regulatory processes. This easy to learn drawing technique opens an infinite area of possibilities and positive changes.

Would you like to learn more about your own limitations and discover your true potential? Join us on June 15th, 2019 and learn more about Fractal Method Drawing, presented by Ana Pavicic, certified Fractal Drawing Instructor.

Artfulness

CREATIVITY MEDITATION MINDFULNESS

Date:  Every Wednesday evening from the 8th of May 2019 for 6 weeks.

Time: 7pm-8.30pm

Venue: The Dublin Creative Therapy Centre, No.3 Great Denmark Street, Dublin 1

Cost for 6 weeks course: €225 (non refundable deposit of €100)

In traditional mindfulness meditation we develop awareness of the breath, the body, thoughts and emotions, making them our focus. We become aware of what our experience is right in the very moment we’re experiencing it.

When we combine this steady, kindly, embodied awareness with naturally mindful creating then we are practicing creative mindfulness.

Artfulness
Adding moment by moment mindfulness to our creativity helps us to just enjoy the process rather than focusing on end results, which means we draw, colour, write, sculpt, journal or paint more freely and more joyfully.

When we practice mindfulness whilst we’re actually in the process of creating we are also able to befriend and gradually change the habits of negative self-talk, inner criticism, perfectionism and self-doubt that often cause us to feel creatively blocked.

By bringing first a curious, lively awareness, and then a kindly, gentle attitude to what we’re making, we can change how we relate to ourselves, our creativity, and the world around us.

This group will be facilitated by one our accredited art psychotherapists.

No previous art making experience necessary!

Art materials will be provided.

Unlock Your Creative Potential: Art Therapy Workshop

“Who looks outside dreams;
Who looks inside, awakes.”
Carl Jung

The Dublin Creative Therapy Centre is pleased to present ‘Unlock Your Creative Potential’ an art therapy workshop designed to transform your creative blocks into building blocks upon which you can begin to unlock your innate creative potential. This workshop is for dreamers, adventurers, lovers, creatives; for anyone with a passion, desire or a wish to connect creatively with the self on a journey of discovery.

ABOUT
This one day workshop will use art therapeutic techniques by way of both individual and group experiential work. The language of visual art-colours, shapes, lines and images- speak to us in ways that words cannot. Art therapy is a modality that uses the non verbal language of art for personal growth, insight, and transformation and is a means of what is connecting inside us- our thought, feelings and perceptions- with outer realities and life experiences. It is based that images can help us understand who we are and enhance our lives through self expression. Within this workshop we will be mixing meditation, personal journaling and intuitive art making in the quest to unlock your creative potential.

This is an experiential workshop facilitated by John O’Malley, Art Psychotherapist, MA, BA, MIACAT, ANCAD.
